Nurse. Kristyn Fanning

Kristyn Fanning is a Registered Nurse and Emergency Medical Technician who has been working in the health industry for over 10yrs. 

She did her Bachelor of Nursing Science locally at James Cook University in Cairns and majored in Rural Health.

Her passion for Indigenous people came about when she started working in the East Kimberly 20yrs ago at El Questro Wilderness Park, where she met and held valuable friendships with respected elders in the area.

She started her career locally in the Cairns Hospital emergency department and has worked throughout the Torres and Cape in places such as Thursday Island, Bamaga, Cooktown, Napranum, Aurukun, Coen and as far south as Palm Island. Kristyn has also worked in teaching at the TAFE Cairns Campus, enjoying passing on her knowledge and passion in healthcare to the next generation.
